Key Responsibilities
Search, Collect, and Classify content by topic:
- Conduct daily searches for relevant content on assigned topics, including articles, studies, blogs, videos, and photos.
- Classify and organize collected materials by topic, format, and tags for easy access and use by the content team.
- Add comments and annotations to each piece of content, making it easier for the team to evaluate and process the material.
- Result: A structured content database with notes on the importance and relevance of materials for further use by the team.
- Write a Research notice: Provide short reports on each topic, highlighting key materials and findings.
Search, Collect, and Update Information Sources:
- Search for new, reliable information sources, such as industry blogs, reports, academic articles, news outlets, and social media.
- Regularly update and maintain the source database by adding new and removing outdated sources.
- Evaluate the credibility and authority of sources before adding them to the knowledge base.
- Collaborate with industry experts to ensure the quality of key sources.
Compile News & Updates Digests and Research notices:
- Create news and update digests regularly with brief summaries and comments on new publications and updates from the source database.
- Use monitoring tools (Google Alerts, Feedly, etc.) to automatically track new publications and trends on key topics in search and social media.
Propose Trending and Relevant Topics:
- Identify trending and relevant topics during research or based on the analysis of collected content and source monitoring.
- Propose topics for further research and development by the content architect and producer.
Reporting:
- Maintain regular reports on completed tasks, including lists of new sources, collected content, and proposed topics.
Required Qualifications
Competences:
- Ability to quickly gather relevant information with a focus on speed and basic relevance, not deep evaluation.
- Capacity to organize and classify information efficiently in a content database, ensuring easy access for the team without overanalyzing details.
- Responsibility for maintaining and updating content structures in a knowledge management system.
- Ability to identify potentially useful sources and flag uncertain or questionable ones for further review by the team.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of how search engines work and how to use advanced search techniques (e.g., search operators, refining queries with keywords, and filtering results).
- Familiarity with different search engines and tools for specific types of content (e.g., Google, academic databases, video/image search platforms).
- Knowledge of knowledge management tools (e.g., Notion, Confluence, Guru) and bookmark management services (e.g., Raindrop, Pocket, Start.me).
Skills:
- Ability to gather relevant content quickly using search tools and effectively categorize it in content management systems.
- Efficiency in filtering and sorting information based on relevance to the topic without deep analysis.
- Pragmatic approach to completing tasks within set deadlines, prioritizing speed and quality.
- Familiarity with content categorization and management systems like Notion and Confluence.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and ability to quickly switch between different tasks.
Soft Skills:
- Proactive and resourceful in discovering new sources of content and using various search methods.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment, following established processes and guidelines.
Experience and Education:
- 1+ year of experience in a research-heavy role (content research, market research, or similar) or
- Currently pursuing or holding a degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Sociology, Linguistics, Law, or other fields that emphasize information research and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role, focusing on gathering content and managing knowledge databases.
- Proven experience in collecting content to form digests and regular news updates.
- Experience with automating content collection and processing, including the use of tools to streamline these processes.
- Experience with monitoring source automation and tracking relevant topics using tools like Google Alerts, Feedly, or custom-built solutions.
- Familiarity with corporate knowledge base management and experience in developing and maintaining corporate content repositories.
- Experience using AI tools to assist in classifying and organizing content (e.g., machine learning or AI-powered categorization systems).
- Strong adaptability to working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
