Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Key Responsibilities

Reliability Engineering & Automation

• Architect and maintain scalable, cloud-native infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) to meet 99.99% uptime targets.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and automated CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and reduce manual intervention.

Monitoring & Incident Management

• Establish real-time metrics, logs, and distributed tracing solutions, leveraging AI-driven anomaly detection to proactively address system risks.
• Lead on-call rotations; diagnose and resolve incidents swiftly to ensure minimal downtime for high-volume financial operations.

Security & Compliance

• Collaborate with CISO and Compliance teams to ensure alignment with PSD2, AML, GDPR, and ISO 27000 series.
• Implement robust encryption, access controls, and fraud prevention measures to protect sensitive financial data.

Performance Optimisation & Scalability

• Fine-tune system performance, conduct load testing, and plan for capacity growth—ensuring high transaction speeds as user demand scales.
• Advocate for best practices in micro services architecture, event-driven processing, and fault tolerance within a modern fintech platform.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

• Work closely with engineering, product, and leadership teams—including senior technical leadership—to shape the platform’s technical evolution.
• Drive cultural change by promoting SRE principles, chaos engineering, and operational excellence across the organisation.

Candidate Requirements

Professional Experience

• 5+ years in a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), DevOps, or similar reliability-focused role within high-availability, mission-critical environments.
• Prior experience (3–5 years) in a core engineering role—such as Java, Python, or Systems Engineering—working on high-performance, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or security-heavy platforms.
• Strong background in cloud platforms, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).

Technical Mastery

• Expertise in CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible).
• Solid understanding of networking protocols, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.

Security & Compliance Mindset

• Ability to enforce best practices in data protection and identity management, ensuring compliance with strict financial regulations.
• Familiarity with PSD2, AML, GDPR, and ISO 27000 series requirements.

Problem-Solving & Autonomy

• Keen analytical skills to proactively identify vulnerabilities and bottlenecks, along with the autonomy to take corrective action.
• Experience designing failover strategies and adopting chaos engineering principles to confirm system resilience.

Communication & Collaboration

• Excellent spoken and written English (C1 level or higher).
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with technical leads, engineering leadership, compliance teams, and non-technical stakeholders.

Location & Work Authorisation

This position is based onsite in Limassol, Cyprus, or Tallinn, Estonia.
